LEGO releases a new supercar every two years within the Technic Ultimate Car Concept series. Another model is planned for 2026, and according to the latest rumors, this time it will be the LEGO Technic 42232 Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear. The set is expected to be released in July 2026 with a suggested retail price of €449.99 and will be available exclusively via the LEGO Shop for the first few months. LEGO itself has not yet announced which car it is. Therefore, the information regarding the Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear should be considered a rumor for the time being.
LEGO Technic 42232 Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear
LEGO Technic 42232 Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear is said to consist of 4,104 bricks, making it the most detailed model in the Ultimate Car series. For comparison, the most recent release, LEGO Technic 42172 McLaren P1, contains 3,893 parts. LEGO thus seems to be continuing the trend where each new supercar in the series becomes more complex than its predecessor. It is striking that, despite the higher number of parts, the price remains the same as that of previous Ultimate Car models.

The Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear is an extremely track-oriented, yet street-legal hypercar from the Swedish brand Koenigsegg. The model is based on the Koenigsegg Jesko, of which Speed Champions and Technic versions have previously been released, and was developed with maximum track performance as the starting point. The car features an aggressive aerodynamic design with large air ducts, a massive rear wing, and an ultra-lightweight construction. Under the hood lies a 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 capable of delivering over 1,600 horsepower on E85 fuel. This makes the Sadair’s Spear one of the most powerful street cars ever built.
Moreover, the model's name and color have a special background. The designation refers to the favorite racehorse of Jesko von Koenigsegg, the father of Christian von Koenigsegg, the founder of the Brand. The horse was named Sadair, and the elder Koenigsegg drove his last race as a gentleman jockey in 1976. The characteristic 76 Brown color is a tribute to that moment. Current rumors regarding the possible LEGO version do not yet mention a specific color. However, it would be logical for the model to also appear in 76 Brown, as this is the color in which the real car is presented. Furthermore, within the Technic series, that would be a fairly unique color scheme.
Koenigsegg is known for its innovative engineering, which offers many possibilities for a detailed LEGO Technic model. The dihedral synchro-helix doors stand out in particular. These doors first swing outwards and then upwards along the bodywork, a mechanism that LEGO could potentially recreate using gears and hinges. Other features fitting for a model at this scale include:
- A working V8 engine with moving pistons
- A working gearbox
- Independent suspension
- Working steering via the steering wheel
- An adjustable rear wing
- A detailed cockpit and engine bay
Thanks to the 1:8 scale, there is ample room to integrate multiple mechanical functions, something that was also an important part of the building experience in previous Ultimate Car models.
If it is indeed this hypercar, it will be the first time Koenigsegg has received a model within the Technic Ultimate Car series, which has previously featured supercars from Bugatti, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche, and McLaren.
