The Jeep Wrangler is one of the most iconic vehicles from the 1993 film. Along with the green Ford Explorer touring cars, the vehicle forms an important part of the scenes on Isla Nublar. For the filming, director Steven Spielberg used a 1992 Jeep Wrangler Sahara, which was specially modified for the film and given the recognizable red and gray color scheme with the Jurassic Park logo.
In Jurassic Park, Jeep Wranglers are used by park staff to get around Isla Nublar. The vehicles play a role in scenes where Dr. Alan Grant and Dr. Ellie Sattler explore the park, among others. The design of the movie car was based on a 1992 Jeep Wrangler YJ Sahara. For the film, several vehicles were modified with custom lighting, roll bars, and the distinctive red and gray color scheme. Over the years, the Jeep Wrangler from Jurassic Park has grown into one of the most recognizable movie vehicles of the nineties. As such, the car fits well into the series of LEGO sets based on iconic vehicles from movies and series, including the previously released LEGO 10300 Back to the Future Time Machine and 10274 Ghostbusters ECTO-1.
