LEGO Godzilla set releases on Black Friday 2026
LEGO confirmed last year that the LEGO Ideas project for Godzilla, designed by MattE720, is being turned into an official set. This marks the first time a LEGO set based on the modern film series from Legendary Pictures will be released. According to the usually well-informed Brick Tap, the release is scheduled for Black Friday, on November 27, 2026.
The original LEGO Ideas project, not the final design.
The original fan design is inspired by recent films such as Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019), Godzilla vs. Kong (2021), and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (2024). The model focuses on a realistic depiction of the iconic monster, emphasizing the distinctive dorsal fins, muscular build, and menacing appearance. According to the designer, this modern version of Godzilla is particularly well-suited for a LEGO adaptation. Due to the franchise's growing popularity, it is expected that both younger builders and adult fans will be interested in a display model.
LEGO has not yet shared an official release date or price. However, we do know that previous Black Friday releases often fall into the higher price segment. It is therefore likely that this set will also be a large display model featuring many bricks and an eye for detail. A price between Dhs 1200 and 1600 seems plausible. Additionally, there is talk of an exclusive gift with purchase (GWP). It is said to consist of a buildable footprint of Godzilla, including a printed 1x1 tile of Mothra, who also appears in the mentioned films.
As is customary with LEGO Ideas sets, the final design may still differ from the original fan model. LEGO regularly adjusts submissions to make them better suited for production, stability, and a higher level of detail. As soon as more information is available regarding the number of stones, the price, and the final design, this article will be updated.
