The set is based on Les Nymphéas, the famous series of paintings by Claude Monet. Monet worked on this series between 1897 and 1926, inspired by the pond and water lilies in his garden at Giverny. Many of these works focus on reflections, color gradients and tranquility, sometimes with the Japanese bridge as a central element. This is not the first time that LEGO has chosen to use a well-known work of art, as Vincent van Gogh – Sunflowers (31215), Leonardo da Vinci – Mona Lisa (31213) and Hokusai – The Great Wave (31208) were previously released.
