Technical highlights from which we have made LEGO® sets

We love to put groundbreaking technology in the spotlight with our sets. Whether it concerns a 4,000-year-old monument or an advanced spaceship, we have transformed the best examples of technology from history into fun and challenging structures.

This year we continue the tradition with our new LEGO® Ideas set based on the Orient Express, one of the most famous trains ever that still symbolizes adventure, luxury and the romantic, bygone era of steam train travel.

To celebrate the release of this new set, we wanted to highlight some of our previous sets that are based on technical highlights. This way you immediately have inspiration if you are looking for the next building or a gift for a LEGO fan in your life. Everyone get in!

LEGO® Ideas The Orient Express

In 1883, the very first Orient Express left Paris for Istanbul (then Constantinople). Over the next hundred years, the Orient Express became the most famous train in the world and became synonymous with elegance, travel and adventure.

The details of this scale model are truly astonishing. You can build the locomotive, the tender, the dining car and the sleeping car. Inside it's all luxurious with inlaid panels and a mirror effect above the bed in the first class sleeping car room, a backgammon board and much more.

When you have completely finished this unique train model, it is approximately 116 cm long and looks absolutely beautiful on a wall shelf or on your desk. And for those who feel like playing with them, the set includes no fewer than eight minifigures, including a conductor, train driver, station attendant and a film director (based on the fan who created the set!), plus a buildable luggage cart.

Whether you are a train fanatic or are looking for a LEGO train set to give as a gift to an adult: you have come to the right place.
