"E.T....Phone Home"
...Or maybe he should call Billund, where the LEGO designers have to decide whether ET goes home or ends up on the shelves of LEGO Stores. Brickester's ET Extra-Terrestrial project ā formerly known as lepralego, or Marcos Garavelli in real life ā managed to collect 10,000 votes on LEGO Ideas after 75 days. The design is therefore the 34th model in the current assessment phase.
ET - The Extra-Terrestrial - is a 1982 American science fiction film directed by Steven Spielberg, which quickly became the highest-grossing film in history, even surpassing Star Wars at the time.
From this film, the filmmakers reconsidered the way to make films for children, adventure films for children and young people. The influence that ET's story and the work its director has done for generations of filmmakers is clear, especially in the children's entertainment market.
The LEGO project shows a picture frame with the film poster and therefore with the most famous part of the film: The Flight of ET and Elliot in the forest against the backdrop of the full moon, considered by many film critics to be the most magical moment in film history. This image is undoubtedly the most famous image from Spielberg's 1982 classic. The design consists of approximately 1,550 pieces and comes with two minifigures of ET and Eliot.
