LEGO Ideas Astronaut

After 353 days, the LEGO Astronaut: āNever Give Upā design impressed the LEGO Ideas team. The Lego Truman model collected the required 10,000 fan votes and is now the 38th model in the current review phase. For Truman, this project is a tribute to all the brilliant engineers and courageous astronauts at NASA who made the wonder of space exploration a reality.
This model is based on the NASA Extravehicular Mobility Unit (EMU) spacesuit design, which is often used on missions to the International Space Station (ISS). The set also includes the Manned Maneuvering Unit (MMU) and the new generation SAFER unit, which is also used on missions to the ISS.
The MMU is used by Bruce McCandless II, who performed the first untethered spacewalk in history. The iconic image of an astronaut floating freely in space was captured during this spacewalk mission.
The astronaut has twelve joints for posing and individually movable fingers. The helmet is equipped with adjustable light units on two sides. The MMU has folding handles and the iconic camera unit in the top corner. The model measures 20.5 x 15.6 x 25 cm and consists of a total of 927 building blocks.
The LEGO Astronaut already reached the first review phase in 2021, but unfortunately the model was rejected. Now Truman hopes that his model can still convince the LEGO designers. In any case, the NASA theme is very popular and four models have already been included in the LEGO Ideas series: LEGO 21101 Hayabusa , LEGO 21104 NASA Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity Rover , LEGO 21309/ 92176 LEGO NASA Apollo Saturn V and LEGO 21312 The NASA Women .
Other models have also reached the review phase, e.g. B. de Roscosmos Soyuz, which is also awaiting positive feedback in the current phase. So the space theme is super popular, so let's see if the astronaut has a chance to be realized this time
